Thursday 22/09/16 12:30 - 16/10/16 17:00

The Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock OX20 1SN

'Why Antiques' explains WHY, WHERE and HOW to collect art & antiques in the Cotswolds. From the connoisseur searching for that elusive object, to the first time collector wanting to choose an area in which to specialise, the aim is to help, inform and guide to your chosen collecting goal.
Members of The Cotswolds Art and Antique Dealers' Association (CADA) are joining together at The Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock, 22nd September - 16th October 2016 to share their passion for collecting at an exhibition,' Why Antiques - 100 years of collecting the Cotswolds'. Visitors will be able to view a selection of furniture, clocks, textiles, glass, ceramics, fine art objects, paintings and watercolours. These objects will all be labelled with their description and date and are collected by theme or by the specialist's area of expertise. Each object displayed will be fully described and there will be a Cotswolds Art and Antique Dealer on hand every day of the exhibition to share their passion and knowledge about art and antiques, and to answer any questions about collecting antiques.
