Broadway Arts Festival (9 to 17 June 2012) celebrates the Cotswold villages artistic heritage. The highlight of this years Festival is Country Gardens: John Singer Sargent RA, Alfred Parsons RA and their contemporaries, a major exhibition featuring works by Singer Sargent, Parsons, Lucien Pissaro, John Constable and many others. In addition, there is a comprehensive programme of lectures, garden tours, art demonstrations and music recitals taking place.
The biennial Broadway Arts Festival celebrates the Cotswold villages artistic heritage, particularly the work of the Broadway Colony. The highlight of this years Festival is: Country Gardens: John Singer Sargent RA, Alfred Parsons RA and their contemporaries, a major exhibition featuring over 20 oils and watercolours by renowned 19th-century artist and garden designer Alfred Parsons RA, together with important works by John Singer Sargent, Lucien Pissaro, John Constable and many others. In addition, there is a comprehensive programme of lectures, tours, performances, art demonstrations and music recitals taking place throughout the nine-day festival that are suitable for the whole family. The Festival is a registered charity, the aim of which is to encourage young people in the community through a bursary or grant that will provide financial support to help them start or continue their studies.
