Charlbury Beer Festival
The fourteenth Charlbury Beer Festival will be held at Charlbury Cricket Club (three minutes’ walk from Charlbury station). As always, all money raised will go directly to good causes, and this year there will be some exciting new features too. The Charlbury Beer Festival is now a significant regional event and wishes to provide additional entertainment for our visitors by celebrating a local Oxfordshire pastime – Aunt Sally. This is a popular pub game played nearly exclusively in Oxfordshire although there are leagues as far away as Spain and Australia. Teams of 8 compete by trying to knock the ‘dolly’ off a spike by throwing ‘sticks’ from 10 yards. It sounds odd but is great fun and strangely absorbing. So join us for a fun-filled family day out, with live music and entertainment.
