Happenstance Border Morris Day Of Dance

Seven Morris dancing sides will be entertaining the crowds in Winchcombe at various locations during the morning, then moving on to Toddington and Winchcombe steam railway stations.
Winchcombe’s very own Border Morris side will play host to 6 visiting sides on Saturday 16th June for the first annual Day of Dance. Invited sides coming from as far as Oxford, promise to provide a very colourful sight. They include Old Meg, Mason’s Apron, KBO, England’s Glory, Appleyard and Baldock Midnight Morris who will all be dancing to live music played by a variety of musicians playing traditional and not so traditional instruments. The day will start at 9.30 outside the Plaisterer's Arms, Abbey Terrace, where each side will dance one 'exhibition' dance . The sides will then dance at various locations in the town. Dancing will also take place at the two GWR stations; Winchcombe and Toddington . The day will end in Toddington at 4pm in the Pheasant car park with a mass dance called ‘Vandals’. Free outdoor event.
