EAST is a group recognised for their excellent and innovative use of a wide range of textile techniques, and also for the diverse and often thought provoking concepts that are explored within the exhibition pieces. Although topics vary for each member, they are all considered with the same intense and personal scrutiny. What better way to be Making A Point than via creative expression that results from detailed research and serious contemplation of personal interests? This exhibition explores a variety of themes from purses and pockets to the brashness of graffiti art. There will be a profusion of vintage fabrics recycled from household furnishings, and colourful knitted sculptural creations. Drawing from language and number systems, nature, history and landscape, the group will present a myriad of forms, shapes, textures, print and stitch techniques. They will stretch the use of textiles and challenge traditional perceptions of them. Entry to our temporary exhibition space is free Contact details: Corinium Museum, Park Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 2BX Tel: 01285 655611
