Tuesday 30th July, 10.30 – 11.30am A shield was a vital part of a Roman soldier’s military kit. As well as providing protection, the brightly coloured patterned shields showed which legion a soldier belonged to. Find out more about how the shields were used and just what exactly a Testudo was andmake your own mini shield to take home. Cost: £1 per child or free to season ticket holders. Family drop-ins are suitable for children aged 3 and above .All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that last admissions will be 10 minutes before the end of each drop-in session.
