Di uses her imagination to re-create drawing and painting equipment that might have been available to this community 4500 years ago.
An Exhibition by Di Pattison Cambridgeshire artist Di Pattison is the author of two recently published books about her discovery of a corpus of stone-age sculpture at Avebury and West Kennet long barrow, which feature over 150 fascinating large-scale carved heads. The artworks in this exhibition are inspired by these monuments and their carvings. Di uses her imagination to re-create drawing and painting equipment that might have been available to this community 4500 years ago, and uses these hand-made tools and process alongside more modern materials. She has been painting with hand-ground real earth pigments and sketching with hand-made pastels for over ten years, collecting suitable stones on her travels in England and Ireland. These art and craft materials will form a small display in their own right.
