Corinium Museum

Footsteps: New site responsive work from Amy Wallace and Carole Waller Two artists making work in response to the inspiring Corinium Museum collection
Saturday 26 April – Friday 30 May Amy Wallace takes images of people in their everyday lives and incorporates them into fabric, handmade paper, stitch and paintings. It is her way of recording a moment past and the people that touch our history. These memorials are proof that those moments happened. They are painful, worn and broken, recording the injuries of time and proving the innocence and vulnerability of our lives. Showing with Amy is Carole Waller who has created work inspired by the Corinium Museum collection and trips to Turkey and Sicily. Carole Waller is a painter who specialises in painting with dye directly onto cloth. She creates a clothing collection as well as paintings on veils of cloth which become installations in three dimensional space. Recently she has developed a way of working with glass to enclose the fragile fabric membrane in a tough monumental material Cost Work will be featured in the Museum entrance and main galleries so included in Museum admission price Contact details: Corinium Museum, Park Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 2BX T: 01285 655611
