Award-winning Eliza Carthy brings her dazzling act to The Convent, Gloucestershire, and to the world via Netgig.
Over the course of her 25-year career Eliza Carthy has become one of the most dazzling and recognised folk musicians of her generation. Eliza has revitalised UK folk music audiences and has captured the most hardened of hearts with canny, charismatic and boundary-crossing music and talent. Twice-nominated for a prestigious Nationwide Mercury Music Prize with 1998's 'Red Rice' and 2003's 'Anglicana' Eliza is also the winner of more than five BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. In 2012 she was awarded the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for Composers. The Convent in Gloucestershire offers world class live music and events in a high tech and intimate venue. The Convent has played host to Van Morrison, Lisa Simone, Fairport Convention, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Charles Spencer and a host of legendary names in the live music world.
