Where Romans [and others] Trod

The walk starts and finishes at The Bird in Hand on the B4022 between Witney and Charlbury. After a diversion towards Delly End, we will follow the ancient tracks of St John's Lane and Pay Lane towards Leafield, then return along the Roman Akeman st crossing what was a WW2 relief airfield.

Escape to the Cotswolds

This walk is organised by Cotswold Voluntary Wardens, the voluntary arm of the Cotswolds Conservation Board. These walks offer an interesting and often entertaining way of exploring our wonderful Cotswold countryside and landscape. All walks by the Voluntary Wardens are FREE OF CHARGE however donations are welcome and help us to take care of the countryside.
